That's actually what I was thinking - we could use turrets from the light operatives to make our own thermopolye (sp).

A mobile fortress.............then again we'd have to be wary of grenades; could wipe us out if we take it too far but a good strategy in a pinch. The phalanx manuever is usually used to punch through enemy lines or absorb damage; so if we need to make a final push towards an objective, it could work.

A little sabotage behind enemy lines operative style would work well with a maneuver like this. The phalanx would draw the brunt of the enemy attention while the operative could come up from behind and pick them off.

urzu is right......... it would create some unique opportunites for someone to ghost across the battlefield and wreak some havoc.

Recent article popped up where someone who was able to play the game made some interesting comments, specifically for here that grenades aren't that powerful and are really only good if you're spot on with them.
And considering that the group would be medics and if even one lives with a Lazarus grenade... Well, let's just say that it won't be an easy setup to break.

That's it!
Why don't we seperate the sub-groups into people that prefer to play differently? For example, we'd have somebody who likes playing medic, an operative, a tank etc.. Like a real team?

I'm thinking that will be how we end up doing it. Either have a sub section devoted to the class (ie, all Medic focused players are in a group and others go to that group when looking for a focus) or we make it so each squad has at least one of each class focused on.
If we do the latter, since we have multiple characters, they could feasibly be in different squads. We'll see more how this plays out.

Are we going to jump straight online or will we start with bots? I think we should start out with the bots to learn the maps and work out strategies that work well.

I agree that that would be helpful, but I'm not sure I can wait. I wi make a character or two, do some challenges, the bloat against others who are also getting used to the maps.
I'd love to have someone or a group working on strategies in the mean-time though, especially if they're not overly comfortable with the game.

I'm probably going to start with the bots. I might come into this game and try to play it like CoD or BC2. I'll have to get use to the style switch

Some training might be good but bots vs human is no contest. Either way, practice is good.

yeah we should run a few practice matches against bots we could hone our strategy and get used to the controls/Smart

another strategy we could try is the soildier + Engineer team where the soilder protects the engineer as they do there objectives and the engineer buffs the soildier
